- Holder of Diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences with specialisation in Psychiatry (Chainama College of Health Sciences, Lusaka, Zambia)
Achievement
Below are some of the achievements of the author:
- Conventional counselling is said to be relatively a new development in Zambia and the author is known to be a Guru of counselling in Zambia because he was the first Programme Officer for the AIDS Counselling Unit of the Ministry of Health that introduced counselling in Zambia.
- The author is a counselling consultant, trainer of counsellors and writer of health learning materials.
- Currently he works for the ministry of Health as a Principal Lecturer and Head, Department of Continuing Education in Health and Research (CCEHR) at Chainama College of Health Sciences, Lusaka, Zambia.
- He has immense experience working in clinical, training, research and material development settings locally, abroad and overseas for twenty years. He has attended several conferences on HIV/AIDS and written many articles on counselling.
- The author has worked for various International organisations, Government line ministries, Nongovernmental, Faith based and Community based organisations,
- He has worked in Botswana with UNICEF, writing materials for use in HIV/AIDS Counselling and prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV and conducting training for health workers.
- He has also worked as a therapist for Cardiff Mind (an organisation that helps people living with mental disorders), linking with a regional referral hospital in South Wales (Witchurch Hospital)
- He has written on orphaned children's issues for Commonwealth of Learning, a Commonwealth Organisation based in Canada.
- He owns his own counselling firm and is a partner in another consultancy firm, Luo and Associates.
